Geodesy research vacancy at Newcastle University

The school of civil engineering and geosciences (Newcastle University, UK) offers a vancancy as a research assistant.

You will join the Geomatics team and carry out research in satellite and ground based deformation monitoring including engineering surveying and the utilisation of GPS observations for the precise determination of horizontal and vertical motions of the Earth's crust and structures on the Earth. You will disseminate your work via leading international journal publications and conferences, and may also assist with the engagement/outreach activities of the School. It is also expected that you will contribute practical support to the undergraduate teaching of plane and engineering surveying.

You will have a PhD or be nearing completion (no later than September 2015), in geodesy, engineering surveying, or a closely related scientific/engineering field, You should have a proven or emerging track record of self-motivated progress in academic research, including publication in peer-reviewed journals, and a demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.

This post is available for two years, although there may be potential for continuation subject to external funding and performance in the role.
